For My Mum
by: LMS

My mother passed away over 30 years ago & I wasn't at her bedside at the moment she left us, although in the hospital making a call. It has always bothered me that I didn't say goodbye. A few years ago I heard this song & eventually realised it was usually played once a week on a Melbourne radio station following the midday news. This I felt was my story & I spent a lot of time trying to find out the name & get the words of the song. It is so beautiful & sung with feeling by John Williamson. This is the perfect song for many funerals as so many of us are unable to say goodbye. Much as I love the song & even though I have heard it now hundreds of times, it still brings tears to my eyes as I still miss my Mum so much even after all these years. Those of you who still have a mother, treasure her because you will never know how much you will miss her until she is gone.

love every song i hear
by: marilyn heenan

My husband passed away 11th April 2013. Suddenly at the age of 53. I am going to use 'flower on the water' at his 1st memorial. Russell at first hated me playing John Williamson day in day out, but he too slowly got addicted. He came to john's concert with me here in Brisbane, with Shannon Noll and the symphany orchestra. And loved it. Russell was a truckie, he even downloaded songs for the long drives he did.....when I travelled with him, it was like old farts in caravan parks, I used to laugh, now I cry. I think of the song of the truckie, bushy, and aborigine. How travelling sets them free, now I understand why hubby loved being on the road...I'd love to meet john Williamson and shake his hand. Through his lyrics, I have my life back.
Love ya john
