I Love the Sunshine of Your Smile by The Four Knights

What do you think?

My Dad died on 1/7/09 aged 49 years and 6 months. Naturally, I was upset. After the eulogy they played this song. It’s a lovely, bright, Marchy type of song. Dad had woken up one morning with the tune in his head and it made him feel happy. It made most people happier after the eulogy.

It goes along the lines:

“I love the sunshine of your smile.
I love the laughter in your eyes.
In every dream I dream of you.
You’re the one I idolise.
You turn the grey skies into blue,
For you always make my life worthwhile
With the sunshine of your smile.”

Something like that. I can’t find the lyrics.

Although most people’s undoing was “Amazing Grace” played on the bagpipes by a police piper (The service is free for police and firefighters. Dad was the latter) as the coffin was carried out.

What was really ironic, Dad’s uncle is a priest and we wanted him to do the service. He left for London on the morning Dad died. And the doctor’s office rang up to postpone that morning’s appointment…when the paramedics were working on him.

I love the sunshine of your smile
I love the laughter in your eyes
In every dream I dream of you
You are the one I idolise
Nobody thrills me like you do
You turn the grey skies into blue
For you always make my life worthwhile
With the sunshine of your smile

I love the sunshine of your smile
I love the laughter in your eyes
In every dream I dream of you
You are the one I idolise
Nobody thrills me like you do
You turn the grey skies into blue
For you always make my life worthwhile
With the sunshine of your smile

Nobody thrills me like you do
You turn the grey skies into blue
For you always make my life worthwhile
With the sunshine of your smile
