‘By My Side’ was written by Andew Fariss of INXS about his relationship with his wife, and how much he missed her when he was away touring with the band. This song, along with Never Tear Us Apart, were the 2 INXS songs played at the funeral of Michael Hutchence (singer of INXS) on 27 November, 1998.
