Look For Me In Rainbows by Vicky Brown

This is song was played at a funeral of someone who I personally didn’t know too well, but this song made me realize that his death was a great loss to those who did know him well and were left behind.

Lyrics

Time for me to go now, I won’t say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, way up in the sky.
In the morning sunrise when all the world is new,
Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you.

Time for me to leave you, I won’t say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, high up in the sky.
In the evening sunset, when all the world is through,
Just look for me and love me, and I’ll be close to you.

It won’t be forever, the day will come and then
My loving arms will hold you, when we meet again.

Time for us to part now, we won’t say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, shining in the sky.
Every waking moment, and all your whole life through
Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you.

Just wish me to be near you,
And I’ll be there with you.

My mum chose this for my dads funeral in April. I look for rainbows every day. A double rainbow could be seen on their recent wedding anniversary. It was comforting for us to think to think it was a sign he was there with us in spirit. We miss him so much. God bless. X

These lyrics were read out at my Mum’s funeral recently, it was very touching and heart warming to think that after all our sadness we will always be able to smile when ever a rainbow is in the sky. We will always fondly remember our Mum, but it will always remind us that she is up there smiling back at us. Many thanks for your song, I cannot express our thanks for your wonderful words.

    1. Hi Karen
      Sorry to email but can you please tell me if you successfully found this track? My mother hand wrote all this lyrics down which was a feat in itself for her and I would like to add to her service but am unsure where to purchase.

  1. This poem was read by my beautiful daughter at my grandmas funeral. She read it with such grace but as soon as she was seated she cried so much. This is the most amazing poem to remember her by. I look for rainbows everywhere and every day.
